A missed penalty in second half stoppage time consigned Droylsden to another defeat in what is becoming a worrying start to the season.

Second half sub Fernando Moke was brought down in the penalty box but his tame strike was easily saved by the Ossett Albion keeper.

It would have been an injustice to the home side not to have taken all three points after taking the lead in the thirteenth minute from an Adam Jones heading following poor marking from a corner.

Droylsden started their game with their youth loan signing from Rochdale Nyal Bell up front along with Brandon Zibaka play on only in his second game for the club.

But it was Ossett who had the better of the first half with chances from Bower and Birch blocked by Craig Ellison in goal and Connor Bower had a glorious chance to make it 2-0 only to drive his shot wide.

At the other end the Bloods chances were few and far between with their best chance a free kick which was driven high over the bar by Zibaka.

Droylsden were forced into a second half change after an injury to Lee O’Brien saw Daniel Ting make a welcome return and manager Dave Pace threw on Moke and Webber for the final third but in a disappointing second half, chances were few and far between until the penalty.

The defeat sees the Bloods third from bottom 0f the first division North with just one win and two draws from seven games and they travel to Burscough on Tuesday night in a must win game.
